'A great way to show what Banbury can achieve': Summer parade brings music and colour to town centre

Hundreds of people helped to transform Banbury’s town centre into a sea of music and colour for the annual Summer Fest Parade on Saturday, July 4.

Now in its second year, the popular event, organised by Banbury BID, brings together residents and businesses for a celebration of summer.

Led by the energetic drummers from North Oxfordshire Academy (NOA), the parade made its way from The Light through the town centre to Market Place.

Hundreds of residents and visitors joined the procession, many dressed in colourful costumes and festive outfits, creating a carnival atmosphere through the town.

The celebrations continued in Market Place, where local community groups hosted stalls and activities alongside Banbury's traditional Saturday market.

Reflecting on the event, Ollie Phipps, town centre liaison for Banbury BID, said: “The event plays a key role in our events calendar, bringing community smiles, colour and good energy into the town centre.

“It's a great way to show off what the great people of Banbury can achieve together.”

Banbury BID thanked the community groups, local businesses and volunteers who helped make this year's Summer Fest Parade another success.
