Roundup of upcoming road closures and traffic notices in towns and villages near Banbury
Several temporary road closures and traffic notices have been confirmed to take place near Banbury over the coming weeks.
Greatworth
Halse Road in Greatworth will be closed to traffic between its junction with Brackley Road and the entrance to Halse Copse Farm.
The closure will come into effect on Thursday, November 19, and is expected to last for five days.
It will allow roadworks to be carried out safely.
Drivers are advised to follow a diversion via Pavillons Way, Banbury Road, Farthinghoe Road, Banbury Road, Brackley Road and Cockley Road.
Barford St Michael
An unnamed road running from Barford Road to Iron Hill Down, near Barford St Michael, will be closed to traffic.
The temporary closure will come into effect on Wednesday, November 4, and is expected to remain in place until Friday, November 6.
The closure will allow Thames Water to carry out boundary box works.
Motorists are advised to follow a diversion via Deddington Road, Street from St Peters Close to Hawthorn Hill, Street from Barford Road to Iron Down Hill, St Peters Close, Iron Down Hill, Barford Road, the road through Swerford Heath, Hawthorn Hill and Banbury Road, and vice versa.
Brackley/A43
Several road closures have been announced along the A43 over the coming weeks.
The A43 trunk road between Evenley and Tiffield in Northamptonshire will be subject to closures for 12 nights from Monday, November 2, to allow roadworks to take place.
The closures will affect slip roads and link roads along the route, as well as four lay-bys near Tiffield, Silverstone and Evenley.
The lay-bys will be closed daily from 1pm until 6am, while the other works will take place between 8pm and 6am.
Signed diversion routes will be in place to direct drivers along alternative roads.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue or ambulance purposes, as well as those involved in carrying out the works or winter maintenance, will be exempt from the closures.
Little Rollright
Rollright Road in Little Rollright will be temporarily closed to traffic from Monday, November 16, until Thursday, November 26.
The closure will allow work crews to lay new ducting in the carriageway.
Affected drivers are advised to follow a diversion via Oxford Road, Old Road, Old Hill, The Hollows, Old Hill Lane and Rollright Road, and vice versa.
Little Compton
Oakham Road in Little Compton will be closed to traffic from Thursday, November 19, until Friday, November 20.
The temporary closure will allow for the replacement of a boundary box and water meter.
Drivers are advised to follow a diversion via Oakham Road, the A44, London Road, Malthouse Lane and Redlands Row, and vice versa.
