Local grower Andy on Gardener's World
Local heritage fruit tree grower, Andy Howard, who lives near Banbury, is appearing on BBC Two’s Gardeners’ World on Friday 23 October, 9pm. Andy will be sharing his enthusiasm for heritage apples on the popular TV show.

Filming for the show (episode 30 in the current series) took place in Andy’s own garden micro-nursery, where he grows rare and locally significant heritage fruit trees such as the Hanwell Souring and Deddington Golden.
“I am very excited to be appearing on BBC’s Gardeners’ World,” says Andy. “When asked for my favourite apples, it was very hard to come up with just ten when there are hundreds of delicious heritage varieties!”

Besides growing fruit trees, Andy designs orchards and runs courses on fruit tree pruning, grafting and orchard maintenance. Andy is the founder of The Heritage Fruit Tree Company and a founder member of the Mid Shires Orchard Group, which conserves the orchard heritage of Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire.
