Local care home hosts British Legion and Veterans for heartfelt breakfast club event
"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making this morning so memorable”
Glebefields Care Home in Drayton, Banbury opened its doors to members of the Royal British Legion and regional veterans for its Armed Forces & Veterans Monthly Breakfast Club, continuing with the deep community connections and sparking joyful reunions.

The morning commenced with a solemn remembrance prayer, allowing residents, staff, and guests a dedicated moment to reflect, remember, and honour the sacrifices of those who have served in the armed forces.
The event saw a robust turnout, with members from the Banbury and Southam Veterans groups attending. The gathering took an exciting turn when residents and staff recognised a familiar face among the visiting veterans which was former colleague Ricki leading lovely reunion that filled the room.

Throughout the morning, veterans spent quality time sharing stories and building relationships with the home’s residents, bridging generations through shared experiences and lively conversation.
The home’s talented hospitality team prepared a fantastic breakfast spread for the attendees, featuring a traditional hot cooked breakfast alongside a variety of cold options.
