Ollie Bearman identifies Haas ‘opportunity’ as Banbury outfit target points at Barcelona-Catalunya GP
Banbury’s TGR Haas F1 Team are optimistic of achieving another points-scoring finish at this weekend’s Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
Haas, currently seventh in the constructors’ standings, have claimed points in five of the six races so far this season, only missing out in Miami.

American but with their European headquarters based in Banbury, Haas brought a host of upgrades to Canada at the end of May but the benefits are yet to be properly felt.
French driver Esteban Ocon did brilliantly to finish ninth from 16th on the grid in Monaco last time out, but, rather than raw performance, it was more a case of a strong strategy and relying on penalties for midfield rivals.
British teammate Oliver Bearman, who has scored 18 of Haas’ 21 points to date, is hopeful the updated components can finally make an impact at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
“A nice thing about racing is that there’s quickly another opportunity to score points and put the previous weekend behind you, and that’s exactly what I’m looking for this weekend in Barcelona,” said Bearman.
“It’s a track that all drivers are very familiar with, and I’m hoping that this will be the first time we can really see the performance that the upgrade we brought to Canada has delivered.
“There’s a mixture of low and high speed corners, plenty of opportunities for overtaking, and I believe this is where we can put ourselves into the top 10.”
Ocon, who has only bettered Bearman’s results twice so far in 2026, is eager to build momentum from his success on the streets of Monte Carlo.
“It’s good to be back racing so soon after finishing in the points in Monaco,” added Ocon.
“Barcelona is a track that we know very well and have been coming to for many years. It feels like I’ve driven thousands of laps here in my life!
“I remember the first time I drove a single-seater was in Spain, and one of my first victories was here in Formula Renault. We’ve also done plenty of testing here.
“Monaco wasn’t easy for us as a team, so we’re looking forward to a more straightforward weekend without issues and hopefully score some more points.”
Lights out for the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix is at 2pm UK time on Sunday, June 14.
