Play-off chasing Nuneaton arrive at St James Park for Saturday’s National League North clash with Wilkin looking to get something against his former club.

Saints were unable to build on their first away win when they lost by a solitary goal at Gainsborough Trinity in Tuesday’s Vanarama National League North clash.

Gainsborough moved up to tenth in the table thanks to Darryn Stamp’s second-half winner but Saints remain outside the drop zone after climbing out following Saturday’s success at Tamworth.

Wilkin said: “The players have to realise the urgency of our situation, there are only 13 games to go and they are running out.

“Nuneaton have dropped away a bit but they will still have ambitions of getting into the play-offs. We have to try and pick up something from every game and we should have done that at Gainsborough.

“With all respect to Gainsborough, they are the sort of side we should be beating. We had chances to win the game, let alone draw it. But we haven’t got the quality to make the difference when games are tight.”
