Brackley Town seal two new transfers - including loan signing from Luton Town
Gareth Dean could finally have a fuller bench to choose from this weekend as Brackley Town have completed two signings in quick succession.
The Saints have got deals over the line to bring Jamar Smith and Jack Lorentzen Jones to St James Park, just in time for this Saturday’s trip to Hednesford Town in the National League North.

Smith, expected to be more of a squad player rather than a regular starter, had a trial period with the club in the summer before a brief spell at Sholing FC.
The 25-year-old, a versatile defender, has previously represented the likes of Poole Town, Salisbury, Gosport Borough and Havant & Waterlooville.
With defence a problem area for Brackley, mainly down to a host of injuries, Smith’s arrival should come as a huge boost to Dean’s side.
Lorentzen-Jones, meanwhile, has joined Brackley on a short-term loan deal. An agreement has been reached with Luton for the 20-year-old to represent the Saints until January.
The midfielder has featured for Luton’s Under-21 side and he was among the Hatters’ academy players retained for the 2026/27 campaign.
In January, Lorentzen-Jones joined National League South outfit Hemel Hempstead Town on loan and gained valuable experience.
After winning the club’s player of the month award in his first month, Lorentzen-Jones went on to make 23 league appearances for the Tudors.
Subject to approval from the National League and the Football Association, the signings of Smith and Lorentzen-Jones mean Brackley now have their biggest squad in recent memory.
Once those out injured make their long-awaited returns, including captain Kyle Morrison, then the Saints should be in great shape to soar up the league standings.
