Banbury toy shop donates boxes of LEGO to support local therapy groups

The donation forms part of Castle Quay’s LEGO donation drive, which was launched in July alongside the opening of the Brickworks interactive brick-building experience at Banbury Museum.

Since the campaign began, members of the public have donated LEGO to help build a collection that can be used in therapy sessions.

The Entertainer’s donation will help expand the collection and support groups that use LEGO to encourage creativity, communication and social interaction.

Liz Swift, retail liaison manager at Castle Quay, said: “It’s been lovely to see the community getting behind our LEGO donation drive since it launched alongside Brickworks in July.

“We’re really grateful to The Entertainer for its generous donation, which will help us build our collection and support local groups using LEGO in their therapy sessions. It’s a great example of how something that brings so much fun and creativity can also be put to a really positive use in our local community.”

The LEGO donation drive is ongoing, and Castle Quay is encouraging local residents to continue getting involved.

Donations can be placed in the dedicated collection box at the centre or handed in at the Customer Service Desk.

A Castle Quay spokesperson said: “The campaign was launched to support Brickworks, an interactive brick-building experience at Banbury Museum, packed with thousands of LEGO bricks, creative building stations, interactive challenges, coding puzzles and speed-building games.

“Designed for builders of all ages, the experience offers plenty of opportunities to build, play and explore away from screens.”

Castle Quay thanked The Entertainer and everyone who has donated so far, and encouraged the community to continue contributing LEGO to support local groups across the area.
