Shark’s £199 wet-to-dry hair styler has me reconsidering how many tools I actually need
I’ve spent years around hair tools, so I’m always curious when something comes along that claims to make the whole drying and styling process simpler. The Shark SilkiPro Hair Straightener & Dryer has caught my eye because it combines two steps I’d normally do separately.
It’s currently £199 on Amazon, reduced from an RRP of £249.99, with the limited-time deal taking £50 off the usual price. The Shark SilkiPro Hair Straightener & Dryer is available to see here.
The idea behind it is fairly straightforward. Rather than drying your hair completely before reaching for straighteners, the SilkiPro is designed to go from wet to dry while also styling the hair.
It uses ceramic HeatSense plates and airflow together, with Shark positioning the tool as suitable for creating a smooth, salon-style finish across different hair types. It can be used to create straighter styles, but it isn’t limited to that, making it more of an all-round styling tool than a traditional pair of straighteners.

For me, the biggest appeal is the potential to simplify the routine. Normally, wet hair means reaching for a hairdryer first, followed by another styling tool once it’s dry. Having one device designed to handle both stages makes sense if you’re short on time or simply want fewer tools cluttering up your bathroom.
The SilkiPro also comes with a storage case, which is a useful addition if you travel regularly or like to keep your styling tools together rather than loose in a drawer.
Shark says its HeatSense technology is designed to regulate the temperature of the plates, while the ceramic plates are intended to distribute heat evenly. The brand also markets the tool as delivering a salon-quality finish without heat damage.
I’d still take any claim around heat damage with a sensible amount of caution because how hair responds to heat depends on the individual, the temperature used and how often you style it. Good heat protection and sensible styling habits still matter.
The Amazon listing currently gives the Shark SilkiPro 4.6 stars from 120 reviews, although that is a relatively small review pool compared with some of the brand’s more established hair tools.
At £199, it’s certainly not an impulse buy, but it is £50 below the listed £249.99 RRP. For anyone already considering a wet-to-dry styler and wanting to cut down the number of tools in their routine, it’s an interesting option to look at while the deal is running.
