Regional: Fire crews respond to single-vehicle collision on M40 near Bicester

Multiple fire crews responded to a road traffic collision on the M40 near Bicester last night, Sunday May 23.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue firefighters from from Bicester and Kidlington responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision on the M40 near junction 9-8A.

In poor driving conditions with heavy rain crews managed to locate the incident and found the single vehicle, which had left the carriageway and gone into the verge.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service posted a message about the incident on its Facebook, which said: "Thankfully the driver only suffered minor injuries despite severe damage to the car and managed to get themselves out before our arrival, crews administered first aid and made the scene safe before leaving the incident in the hands of South Central Ambulance Service and Thames Valley Police."
