Fancy a fright? Banbury's popular Tunnel of Terror Halloween attraction is back this weekend

Banbury residents looking for a fright this Halloween will soon have the chance to put their nerves to the test as the popular Tunnel of Terror returns.

The mastermind behind the attraction, Tracey Kovacs, has been busy transforming her garden at 75 The Link off the Fairway once again into a spooky walk-through experience to raise money for charity.

Tracey and her family, who help organise the event, took a break from running it last year but are back this Halloween with an array of scary props and animatronics.

As in previous years, Tracey and her team have also enlisted friends and family members to play face-painted characters, ready to give visitors a fright.

Tracey first set up the Tunnel of Terror in 2021 to cheer people up following the lockdowns of the previous year. Since then, the attraction has grown bigger each year, while raising money for a different local charity.

This year, Tracey has chosen to support the Oxford Transplant Foundation.

She said: “It's an independent charity that raises money to support patients and their families, as well as fund research. It's a small independent charity that relies on donations and fundraising.

“It's run by a lady called Carol, who has a small team of volunteers. It's run from her home, so all the money raised goes to the charity.”

The event will run from 4.30pm to 8.30pm on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31.
