Traffic disruption as water leak closes road in Banbury

A road in Banbury town centre has been temporarily closed while Thames Water carries out repairs to a water leak.

West Bar Street in Banbury has been temporarily closed in both directions while Thames Water deals with a water leak.

The leak, which is close to the site of a dramatic pipe burst in May that sent water spraying high into the air, is believed to have first started over the weekend.

A spokesperson for Thames Water said: “We are currently fixing the leak on West Bar Street in Banbury and we are sorry for any inconvenience this causes. We will reopen the road when the repair is complete, and it is safe to do so.”
