Banburyshire pub to close during six-figure investment makeover

The Red Lion pub in Adderbury is to close for the duration of a costly makeover – and is recruiting.

Owners Greene King say they are putting a six-figure investment into the old coaching in on the village green.

They say the facelift is designed to ‘carefully blend its historic charm with some modern-day comforts’.

The pub will temporarily close to the public from today (Monday) while the works take place, with the pub set to officially reopen its doors in later in the month.

The traditional Grade II listed inn with rooms will retain all its 17th century character and continue to delight customers stopping off for drinks, meals and overnight stays.

There will be new flooring, furnishings, lighting and décor throughout and the bar areas will be enhanced. The toilets and hotel rooms will all be refurbished to add extra comfort for guests. Outside there will be sympathetic planting, décor, lighting and decking to boost kerbside appeal and alfresco dining opportunities.

Greene King hopes the pub will remain a popular hub for all the local community with delicious food and drinks menus to suit all occasions.

Customers can browse menus and book ahead ready for when the pub is open again via the Greene King app, which can be downloaded here.

The Red Lion is on the lookout for talented people to join its team in the kitchen or bar. There are full and part-time opportunities across both front and back of house. To find out more and to apply, follow this link.
