Comic Con magic comes to Banbury this November
“For us, Comic Con is about so much more than costumes and superheroes”
Superheroes, iconic television cars, comic book artists and family fun are heading to Banbury as Bolt Events brings Banbury Comic Con to Spiceball Leisure Centre on Saturday 7th November 2026.
Comic book fans, film lovers, gamers and families are in for a treat as Banbury Comic Con promises a fantastic day packed with entertainment, colourful characters and activities for all ages.
Organised by family-run company Bolt Events, the event is all about bringing the community together and creating an affordable, inclusive day out where everyone is welcome, whether you’re a lifelong Comic Con enthusiast or experiencing your very first convention.
One of the star attractions will be KITT, the iconic talking car from the hit 1980s television series Knight Rider, made famous alongside David Hasselhoff. Visitors will have the opportunity to see this legendary television car up close, bringing a little 1980s nostalgia to Banbury!
For budding artists and comic book enthusiasts, there will also be some fantastic creative talent in attendance.
Duncan Gutteridge, known for his incredible Sonic the Hedgehog artwork, will be bringing his artistic talents to the event, giving visitors the opportunity to discover the world of character illustration.
Joining him will be Kev Sutherland, comic book artist, writer and entertainer, known for his work in British comics and his popular comic art workshops. Kev will be sharing his passion for comics and inspiring the next generation of creative talent.
Visitors can also look forward to meeting incredible cosplayers, exploring stalls filled with collectibles, handmade gifts, artwork and merchandise, and enjoying a whole host of interactive activities.
One of the things that makes Bolt Events special is its commitment to offering plenty of entertainment included in the admission price. Families can enjoy retro gaming, themed photo opportunities, creative activities and the ever-popular cosplay competitions, where children and adults alike can show off their amazing costumes.
Younger visitors can also take part in a special scavenger hunt, helping Bolt the Bear track down his cheeky missing dogs hidden around the event!
And don’t worry if you haven’t got a costume — dressing up is completely optional. Everyone is welcome to come along and soak up the atmosphere.
A Comic Con With Community at Its Heart
Bolt Events prides itself on creating welcoming, family-friendly events that are accessible to as many people as possible.
The organisers also offer an early-entry opportunity for visitors who benefit from a quieter environment, helping make the experience more comfortable for those with additional needs.
A spokesperson for Bolt Events said: “For us, Comic Con is about so much more than costumes and superheroes. It’s about bringing people together, seeing families making memories and creating a place where everyone feels they belong.
We love seeing the excitement on children’s faces when they meet their favourite characters, but equally, it’s wonderful watching adults rediscover a little of their childhood.
We’re a family-run business, and we put our hearts into every event. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Banbury for a fantastic day!”
Whether you’re looking for a unique family day out, hoping to discover something special from local traders or simply fancy stepping into a world of superheroes and imagination, Banbury Comic Con promises something for everyone.
