Banbury paints the town orange: Local groups unite for ‘Orange the World’ wellness walk
A collaboration of local organisations is inviting the Banbury community to step out this November for a special wellness walk dedicated to raising awareness for the elimination of violence against women and girls.

On Saturday, November 21, from 10am to 12noon the Inner Wheel Club of Banbury (a service organisation driven by friendship, supporting local and international charities), Looney Loops (a friendly gathering where participants can walk, shuffle, jog, or run as many or as few loops as they like with zero pressure or competition) and A2 Dominion Oxfordshire (Domestic Abuse Support Services) will join forces at the Banbury Rugby Club to support the global ‘Orange the World’ campaign.
The morning serves as a visual build-up to the official UN 16 Days of campaign against Gender-Based Violence (November 25 to December 10). By turning the spotlight onto local support, we hope to send a clear message of hope and collective community safety.

Banbury Inner Wheel are thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with Looney Loops in a free, noncompetitive running and walking initiative which focuses entirely on mental well-being and social connection making it perfect for this inclusive event.
Carole from Banbury Inner Wheel said: “Everyone of all ages in the Banbury area is welcome to come along. Whether you want to walk, jog, shuffle, run around the rugby club or simply show your face and support the cause, your presence will make a meaningful difference”.
There will be an ‘Orange the World’ awareness stand, acting as a hub for information, conversation, and community support.
Participants are encouraged to wear something orange if they can - The colour orange symbolizes a brighter future, free from violence and abuse. The International Inner Wheel organization is a long-standing supporter of this United Nations initiative, with local clubs across the country organizing unique events to raise awareness.

The event is designed to be entirely free and highly welcoming, making it perfect for families, friends and neighbours alike. For those driving to the venue there is parking available at the Banbury Rugby club. Refreshments will be available to purchase at the Rugby Club.
