Two late goals from Brackley Town's feared front two earned a deserved point as they battled back at to earn a 2-2 draw at Gateshead in the Vanarama National League North.

Macauley Langstaff prodded the home team ahead after 19 minutes in a messy goal and Greg Olley doubled the lead on the hour from a break-away on a day when it looked as if Brackley’s bogey team would come out on top in a tight game once again.

It seemed Brackley would be out of luck as both Lee Ndlovu and Gaz Dean saw headers hit the woodwork.

But Tre Mitford grabbed his fifth goal in four games, rifling his shot into the roof of the net as a corner was not cleared after 86 minutes.

And, in the final minute, Ndlovu headed home the equaliser from Ethan Coleman’s cross.

The Saints were only denied an added time winner by the woodwork in what would have been a dramatic turnaround but it was a well-earned point for Kevin Wilkin's team as they now prepare for a home clash with Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday night.

It was also a landmark day for Glenn Walker as he made his 351st appearance for the club to become Brackley's all-time record appearance holder.
