Banbury United complete signing of ex-MK Dons defender who once played in the Championship
Head coach Kelvin Langmead has secured his third new signing of the summer, landing experienced central defender Oran Jackson to bolster his back line.
Jackson spent the final few months of last season at Southern League Premier Central rivals Stamford AFC, so the Puritans have not only strengthened their own squad, but they have weakened another.

An MK Dons academy graduate, Jackson once made a substitute appearance in the Championship during the 2015/16 season.
Now 27, the central defender, who can also feature as a defensive midfielder if required, has turned out for the likes of Billericay Town, St. Ives Town, Portadown, Leighton Town, Daventry Town and Rugby Borough.
Puritans fans will have to get over the fact that Jackson once wore the red and white of local rivals Brackley Town, though that will soon be forgotten when looking at the vast extent of his non-league experience.
Jackson joining brings Banbury’s squad to a total of 11 players ahead of the 2026/27 season. Two of those are fellow new signings – striker pair Levi Steele and Joey Evans.
The remaining eight were all with the Puritans last season. There’s also a chance that more of the current crop will stick around, with decisions to be communicated in due course.
For now, among those staying are legendary goalkeeper Jack Harding, captain Yaw Ofosu and midfielders Aaron McCreadie and Alex Prosser.
Last campaign’s top scorer Connor Ferguson is also sticking around alongside promising up-and-coming trio Joel Anker, Max Fuller and Sebastian Kola.
