Warwick Hospital's A&E department reopens

The A&E department at Warwick Hospital has now reopened after an earlier closure.

Hide AdThis morning (Friday) the South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT), which operates Warwick Hospital, posted a message on their website and social media accounts to let the public know about the closure.
The Trust said the hospital was unable to take any patients due to an 'emergency maintenance issue'.
At around 3.30pm the trust announced the A&E department had reopened.

Hide AdA spokesperson said: "Following a temporary closure today, the Emergency Department at Warwick Hospital is now fully operational again and the site is safe and secure.
"Thank you to all the teams and colleagues who have helped us manage this incident and also to the public for their understanding.
"Please continue to consider the alternatives to A&E.
"If you require urgent, but not life-threatening medical advice NHS 111 or local pharmacies are available.
"Pharmacists offer expert advice for many common winter ailments such as coughs and colds, sinusitis, earaches and sore throats."
