'A huge achievement for our whole team': Nursing home near Chipping Norton recognised for its high-quality end-of-life care
A nursing home near Chipping Norton has been recognised for its commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred end-of-life care.
The Langston Nursing Home in Kingham has received the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award at Platinum level.
It was presented at the GSF Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on Tuesday, September 22.
The award recognises the home’s commitment to improving care and the experiences of people approaching the end of their lives, as well as their families.

Andrea Mociran, home manager at The Langston, said: “To be accredited with the Gold Standards Framework award at Platinum level is a huge achievement and reflects the hard work and dedication of our whole team.
“We are proud to provide high-quality, person-centred end-of-life care, ensuring that every resident is treated with dignity, compassion and respect. I am extremely proud of the whole team and everything they do to support our residents and their families.”
The Gold Standards Framework is an accreditation programme that provides training for frontline health and social care staff, helping them deliver coordinated, high-quality and compassionate end-of-life care.
Its programme supports teams across settings including care homes, GP practices, hospitals and hospices.
Julie Armstrong-Wilson, chief operating officer for the Gold Standards Framework, said: “These achievements show the difference that can be made when end-of-life care becomes part of everyday practice. Across all health and social care settings, teams are becoming more confident identifying people earlier, understanding what matters to them and planning care around their wishes.”
