Pizza Calzone has been shortlisted for both Best Italian Establishment and Pizza Restaurant of the Year at the 10th Food Awards England 2026.

The restaurant in Parson’s Street, Banbury, will join fellow finalists at The Grand Station in Wolverhampton on Monday 9 November, when the winners will be announced.
A Banbury favourite for nearly 20 years, Pizza Calzone has welcomed families, friends and colleagues for everything from weekday lunches to birthdays, reunions and larger celebrations.

This year’s submission celebrates the people behind the restaurant, recognising the kitchen and front-of-house teams whose food, friendly service and personal attention keep guests returning. Customer feedback frequently highlights the welcome given to children, thoughtful service and the staff’s warmth and humour.
The restaurant’s community connections also feature prominently. Pizza Calzone sponsors the Broughton Castle Sportive and donates restaurant vouchers to numerous local school fundraisers and events supporting Katharine House Hospice.
The finalist recognition follows Pizza Calzone’s Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award for 2026, which recognises consistently strong guest reviews and places recipients among the top 10% of listings on the platform.
Public votes and supporting evidence both contribute to the Food Awards England’s final decisions. Pizza Calzone is inviting customers who have enjoyed their visits to support the restaurant by voting online.
