Banbury United land promising defender following Oxford United departure
Banbury United have confirmed their fourth new signing of the summer as Oxford United academy graduate Harrison Mole.
The 19-year-old joins the Puritans on a one-year contract following his exit from Oxford and his announcement comes shortly after that of fellow new signing Oran Jackson.

Mole has been with Oxford since the age of nine and he developed into a key leader among their youth ranks, captaining the under-18 side before becoming a regular in the under-21 setup.
Not only did Mole impress with the Us at youth level, but he already has experience in Banbury’s division, having turned out for Southern League Premier Division Central side Redditch United on loan.
Predominantly a right-back but capable of playing anywhere across the back line, Mole adds versatility and determination to boss Kelvin Langmead’s defence.
“I’m delighted to be joining Banbury United, it’s a club with great ambition and a strong following,” said Mole.
“I’m looking forward to getting started, meeting everyone involved, and doing everything I can to help the team achieve its goals this season. See you soon, Puritans.”
Langmead was determined to get a host of fresh faces early on in June and he has accomplished that, with Mole and Jackson making it four new signings in total.
The other two were announced several weeks ago as striker pair Levi Steele and Joey Evans. It’s hoped Steele and Evans can bolster Banbury’s goalscoring output.
In those four, Langmead has added a mix of experience and youth. More new additions can be expected in the coming days and weeks, as talks continue behind the scenes.
