Man hit by train in Bicester

A man has died after he was hit by a train in Bicester this afternoon, Monday.

British Transport Police (BTP) said officers were called to the Bicester to Banbury railway line in Howes Lane at around 1.20pm after reports of a man being hit by a train.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said two ambulances, a BASICS doctor and an air ambulance were dispatched, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A BTP spokeswoman said: “Officers are currently working to establish the identity of the man and inform his next of kin.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Some rail services into London Marylebone were cancelled or delayed this afternoon after the incident.
