Comedy festival to bring award-winning acts and family shows to five venues across Banbury
Banbury’s comedy festival will return for a second year next month, with 25 shows planned across five venues in the town.
The popular festival, organised by local comedian Ryan Mold will feature award-winning Edinburgh Fringe shows, Spanish and Hindi language performances and kids shows.
Ryan, who is also the promoter of the Atic Banbury comedy nights was inspired to launch the festival last year after spending many years performing at the famous Edinburgh Fringe.
With Banbury Comedy Festival, Ryan hopes to recreate the taste and feel of the famous festival’s atmosphere and energy here in Banbury.

Much like many shows at the legendary Edingburgh Fringe all performances at Banbury Comedy Festival will operate on a pay-what-you-want basis, giving audiences the chance to discover new comedians at a price that suits their budget.
This year’s event returns on Saturday, November 14 and will take place at The Mill Arts Centre, The Apothecary Tap, Lock 29, The Village Butty and the Freemasons Hall.
The festival aims to offer something for audiences of all ages and backgrounds and includes familiar television faces trying out new material like Ingrid Dahle and Tony Law aswell as performances aimed at children from local entertainer Aaron Williams.
Organisers are encouraging people to book tickets for shows as soon as possible, saying around 50 per cent of shows sold out before last year’s festival began.
Ryan said: “The Banbury Stand-Up Comedy Festival is more than just a night of jokes—it’s a celebration of the growing arts scene in North Oxfordshire.”
