Head coach James Kerr knows Banbury Bulls must find that winning formula again as they look to kick-start their season.

Bulls slipped to a sixth defeat at Oxford Harlequins and Kerr will be looking to get back on track against Reading in Saturday’s South West One East fixture at Bodicote Park.

I’m confident that if we can get back to producing the performances the points will come

Head coach James Kerr

Kerr said: “We’ve got to start taking points from the teams around us and we should have come away with all of them on Saturday. But I’m confident that if we can get back to producing the performances the points will come.”

Looking back on Saturday’s defeat, Kerr added: “Quins defended well on a tight pitch, which made it hard for us to play good rugby, and took their opportunities when they came. But the winning try came from the ball hitting the corner flag and coming back into play, that was a frustrating way to lose it.

“What was most disappointing was that we were more than capable of beat Quins. But the energy just wasn’t there and we couldn’t get going. That’s the first time it’s happened, it wasn’t a lack of effort, and the players realise what went wrong.”
