A woman in her seventies has died after a crash near Hook Norton.

Thames Valley Police have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision that happened around 5pm near Hook Norton yesterday.

The woman was driving a red Toyota Yaris and travelling eastbound when the vehicle left the road between Rye Hill and The Gate Hangs High pub and collided with a tree.

The police have informed her next of kin and are supporting the family with specially trained officers.

PC Mark Jones of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Bicester police station said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the families and friends of the woman who sadly died.

“I am appealing for any witnesses to this collision to please come forward.

“Also, if you have any dash-cam footage and were driving in the area around the time of the collision, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.
