World textiles in village hall

Traders from all over the country will be selling textiles and related items from Africa, China, Japan, south east Asia, South America, India and Pakistan.

There will also be an exhibition and two sessions of talks.

World Textile Days already take place in six other venues across the UK but this is the first one to be held in central England.

Each year the days have a theme and this year’s theme is Rites of Passage – Births, Marriages and Deaths in Textiles.

At 11am John Gillow, author of several world-renowned textile books, will be speaking about Dowry Textiles and at 2pm there will be three short sessions, including a ‘Textiles Roadshow’, a chance for you to bring along a textile in your collection to ask the experts about or speak about.

Refreshments are available, there is plenty of free parking and entrance is free.
