'˜Heroes' from the police, fire and ambulance services will be switching on the Christmas lights in Banbury next month.

Banbury Town Council has announced its ‘honour’ at having people who ‘put themselves forward to protect and help all’ will turn on the decorations on Sunday, November 25.

A whole afternoon of events is planned with a fairground, festive market, Santa’s Grotto and performances before the big switch-on and fireworks.

The day starts at 1pm, with the lights switch-on at 6pm, ending at 7pm in the town centre.
