A man robbed a Co-op store in Banbury while telling staff that he had a gun.

The man entered the shop in Ferriston at around 8.10pm on Sunday and demanded money while stating he had a gun with him, although no weapon was actually seen during the offence.

The robber left the shop with around £185 in cash and is believed to have fled in the direction of Glyndebourne Gardens and onto Banesberie Close.

The offender was wearing black motorcycle clothing including a full face crash helmet.

Detective Constable Sam Buzzard said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident to please come forward.

"If you have any CCTV footage in the area or any dash-cam footage if you were driving in the area around the time, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.
