Police make arrest after responding to vehicle fire near Brackley

Police arrested a man after responding to a vehicle fire near Brackley yesterday, Monday August 10.

The incident happened when firefighters from the Brackley Station of the Northampton Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of a vehicle fire on the A43 near Brackley around 7.30am.

Firefighters responded to reports of a black Land Rover Discovery on fire.

Northamptonshire Police also attended the vehicle fire, and discovered 425 litres of fuel inside the vehicle.

As a result of the response by emergency services police arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of fuel theft.

He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
