Hornton villagers have produced another fantastic choral video in the second of their lockdown music events.

The village's virtual choir has posted its second sensational hit - Fields of Gold - a chart topper for writer, composer and singer Sting - on YouTube.

The song follows last month's debut for the ensemble, True Colours, and it will be followed by another planned number - the Mamas and the Papas' California Dreaming, which has been covered by a multitude of recording artists - and soon Hornton Virtual Choir.

Once again the contributions of 28 singers had to be individually filmed by them, locked down in their own homes in and around Hornton. Choirmaster Pete Whitehead said it is impossible for everyone to sing together online using video conferencing because people’s broadband speeds are all slightly different.

So the individual recordings were put together by editing maestro Tom Wain who compiled them into one film with a single soundtrack.

This week's new video can be seen here..

Mr Whitehead said the choir is now ready to step back in time for the next performance - all the way to the days of peace and love in the 1960s.

He said: "Our village participants don’t have to be a great singer or have had any experience in a choir at all. It’s the taking part that counts.".
