The Great Carol Sing. Children from local Primary Schools will be joining Stour Singers to sing a beautiful variety of Christmas music. Compton Verney Art Gallery

There are a variety of different Christmas themed activities to enjoy including indoor creative crafts, live seasonal music, storytelling and outside welly wanders. Family visitors of all ages will be able to enjoy colouring, cutting and 3D star making in The Studio, drop-in welly wanders with a prize for those who can find the hidden clues and solve the puzzle plus storytelling for younger children.

On Sunday there will be firework themed activities alongside firework experiments and demonstrations with the Royal Society of Chemistry. Then at 5.30pm, as a grand finale to Compton Verney’s 2015 season, there will be a firework display. Last admission is at 4.30pm. Call 01926 645 500 for full details.

Banbury Museum

The museum’s new exhibition sees a return of artwork by Sir Terry Frost RA, one of Britain’s most successful and acclaimed abstract artists of the 20th century. During the 1960s and early 1970s he lived in Banbury and this exhibition, marking what would have been his 100th birthday, celebrates the personal side of his life.
