Top musicians feeling the blues at village social club

A duo of top acts who were finalists in the British Blues Awards this year can be seen at Woodford Halse Social Club.

The Great Central Blues Club present Marcus Bonfanti and Grainne Duffy on Saturday.

Marcus Bonfanti recently won two Awards in vocalist and acoustic categories of this year’s awards. Grainne Duffy was awarded first place in vocalist category in Blues Matters’ Writer’s Poll. Marcus is kicking off the night with an solo set with Grainne and her full band rocking away the rest of the night.

Since releasing his first full length album in 2008 Marcus’ solo career has gone fromstrength to strength and seen him tour with and open shows for Robert Cray, Chuck Berry, Shuggie Otis, Philip Sayce, Jack Bruce, The Straits, Beth Hart, John Mayall, Beth Rowley and JJ Grey.

Grainne is a regular on the festival circuit in her native Ireland and has appeared at Glastonbury. She has also taking her music abroad to such places as far flung as the Artic island of Svalbard, Norway.
