Banbury’s bars are looking forward to a busy bank holiday weekend and now the offering for music lovers and cocktail connoisseurs is better than ever.

Yesterday (Thursday) Banbury’s newest bar Rock the Atic opened its doors from 10 to 3 and punters finally had chance to see what all the hype was about. As well as a slick design and some nifty features (built in phone chargers), Atic has a busy lineup.

Tonight (Friday) will feature the Atic House Band & Franklin, tomorrow Saturday will feature DJ Stefan Ashman and on bank holiday Sunday the Urban Classix set will feature R&B, Hip Hop and club anthems hosted by Bizzy (B.B.Heroes) & Therapy (Mayhem Crew).

Bar staff member Mary Bell added: “What’s also really great about this project is the amount of support we’ve received from other local bars and businesses.

The Vaults kindly let us set up our promotional bacon roll give away, right on their door step a few weeks ago and Lucha Burrito will be giving away special discount tokens to their customers on Saturday, for our opening weekend. It’s really refreshing to see local independent businesses supporting one another.”

Also Known as has also just completed a fresh new makeover in the nick of time for the weekend, tonight featuring Youtube sensation Blizzard, who also recently appeared on the Radio 1 Playlist. Sunday night will feature the energetic rock anthems of The Standard.
