Bodicote Church Youth Drama Group are inviting audiences to join them as they celebrate 21 years of treading the boards on the local theatre scene.
The troupe of young performers - who are all aged 8 to 18 and live in the Banbury area - are currently putting the finishing touches to their new production of Seussical the Musical at Bishop Loveday School.
The show is a fun, family musical written by Tony award winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, which debuted to critical acclaim on Broadway in 2000.
It is an amalgamation of Dr Seuss’s most popular books and sees the Cat in the Hat take the audience on a musical adventure to meet some of the author’s most memorable characters.
They include Horton the Elephant, the Grinch, Thing 1 and 2, the Whos and a whole host of other colourful friends along the way, making for a light-hearted stage show that is filled to the brim with family friendly entertainment.
Bodicote Church Youth Drama Group were first formed back in 1994 following a performance of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Their production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical celebrated the 150th anniversary of the re-building of St John the Baptist Church in Bodicote.
And the organisation are still going strong today, with a small number of volunteers overseeing the talented youngsters.
The group will perform a total of four shows starting tonight (Thursday, October 29) and continuing on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31.
The shows start at 7.30pm on each day and there is also a matinee performance on the Saturday at 2.30pm.
