There will be two reasons to celebrate at Banbury Folk Club on Wednesday.
The first is the club will be celebrating its 17th birthday and a favourite of the club Scarecrow will be launching their long awaited album.
Scarecrow have regularly appeared at the club and at Banbury Folk Festival in the last 17 years and have built up a following in the area and at other local clubs and festivals, but up until now have never recorded anything.
Mary and Derek Droscher, club organisers said: “Their fans have been saying for years that Scarecrow should produce an album. We are delighted that they have chosen to launch it at Banbury Folk Club.”
The band consists of Dave Moore on whistle, flute and hummelchen bagpipes, Gordon Raitt on guitar and bouzouki and Rey Lear on bass guitar, flute and whistle.
The club invites music lovers to come along and enjoy the party atmosphere, cake and nibbles! The ticket price is £9/ £8 concessions, including party food. To be sure of a place call 01295 709881.
