The annual three day music festival roared into life yesterday with an eclectic mix of acts.
Fairport Acoustic kicked things off at this years festival as the rain held off and the crowds grew on the first day of the festival.
The afternoon was spent in the company of a number of folk bands including James Wood and Anna Ryder and Gryphon.
Canterbury band Coco and the Butterfields followed combining folk with rap and beatbox influences and included a fantastic folked up cover version of House of Pains seminal hit Jump Around.
Supporting the main event were American Hillbillies Hayseed Dixie who’s set of blue grass rock covers from bands such as AC/DC, lynyrd skynyrd and Led Zeppelin was over way too soon. They also regaled the crowd with their unique and humorous philosophies on dogs, drinking and Nigel Farage.
Headlining the Thursday night were legendary ska band Madness, who played hit after hit including Embarrassment, The Prince and Wings of a Dove.
The festival continues until Saturday night when Fairport Convention will take the stage.
Tickets are available on site for Friday and Saturday or Saturday only.
