Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker, who stole the show at last year’s BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, play a much-anticipated concert near Banbury.
The acclaimed duo, who won the award for Best Duo in 2015, feature in the latest Marston Concert, staged in the atmospheric village church in Marston St. Lawrence.
Josienne and Ben began working together in 2009. They have since released albums to growing critical acclaim and built up an enthusiastic following for their ‘live’ performances.
Their debut release for Rough Trade Records was recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios near Monmouth in Wales, and will be released in October.
“We were really delighted with the response, and hope that by staging concerts by some of the best artists in the country, people who want to hear great music in a beautiful setting will come along,“ said David Barber, one of the Marston Concerts organisers.”
Tickets for the event on Saturday July 2 are priced £15. To book visit www.ticketsource.co.uk/marstonconcerts or call the box office on 01295 713652. Doors open at 6.30pm and it starts at 7.30pm.
