One of the bands due to headline this year’s Banbury Folk Festival in October recently took Fairport’s Cropredy Convention by storm.
Folk rock group TRADarrr had the first band slot after Fairport’s Acoustic slot to critical acclaim from the audience.
The band presents new take on traditional British Folk music, featuring some classics and some hidden gems. The members are: Gregg Cave, an established part of the UK folk-rock scene; Guy Fletcher (Feast of Fiddles, Little Johnny England); Marion Fleetwood (The Jigantics, Colvin Quarmby); Mark Stevens (Little Johnny England); PJ Wright (Steve Gibbons Band, The Dylan Project, Little Johnny England).
TRADarrr will be playing out the Festival on Sunday at Banbury and will be inviting some surprise guests to join them.
Festival organisers Derek and Mary Droscher said: “We are so excited to be having this band at Banbury this year.
“They have not had many festival appearances yet but are delighting audiences wherever they have played so far. We are lucky to have something so exciting and fresh to finish off the Festival! “
The Festival takes place from October 9 to 11. Now in its 16th year, the festival once again has a range of artists and events to appeal to folk fans, whether their preference is traditional or contemporary.
