Popular singer and fiddle player Marion Fleetwood will give a solo performance at Banbury Folk Club on Wednesday evening.

With her stunning vocals and winning personality, she will dazzle an eager crowd at the Banbury Cross Inn on Butchers Row.

Marion has long been a favourite with the Banbury Folk Club and festival, making frequent appearances with Meet on the Ledge and Colvin Quarmby.

More recently, she has been performing with her band the Jigantics and became a member of folk-rock group TRADarrr, who will be playing at Fairport Convention’s Cropredy this August.

Her first solo album Holding Space was released last month following a successful crowd-funding bid – raising the required amount of money in just eight days.

Marion said: “I hope people enjoy this ‘snapshot’ of where I am now and that it reflects the inspirational musical friendships I have been lucky enough to have made so far.”

“I’m eternally grateful to Banbury Folk Club and Derek and Mary in particular, for joining the crowd-funding as Gold Patrons, and the gig on July 8 is a thank-you to them and the great club they run.”

The event will take place on Wednesday at the Banbury Cross Inn, with music starting from 8pm.

Tickets for the gig are limited , so booking in advance is recommended. Call 01295 709881 to reserve your place.
