Visitors to Kidlington can relish in chutneys and find cheese to please with the return of a special Fine Foods Market.
On Friday, August 12, Cherwell District Council and market operators Sketts will host the monthly market in the pedestrianised area of High Street.
Traders will offer a range of high quality produce and street foods ranging from dairy delights to perfect pastries.
Councillor George Reynolds, Cherwell’s deputy leader, said: “The Fine Foods Market is a great opportunity to bring extra footfall into Kidlington by offering something different to the usual stalls or businesses. Shoppers can browse an array of tasty treats including snacks to enjoy on-the-go or something to take home and spoil themselves with later.
“The monthly Fine Foods Markets are designed to offer more choice to shoppers without competing with the existing retailers or traders. We would encourage anyone who has yet to sample the delights of the Fine Foods Market to come along and see what’s on offer.”
The stalls will be trading between 10am and 2pm and will offer a range of tasty treats including hams, cheeses and chutneys to preserves, pies and sausage rolls.
The market will coincide with a series of events taking place across Kidlington the same day. At the nearby Kidlington Centre children aged between six and 12 can take part in a series of free science experiments which will be provided by Sublime Science as seen on the BBC show Dragon’s Den.
The Central England Reptile Rescue and Bird of Prey Sanctuary will also be at the centre hosting displays while Kidlington Market Association will host its weekly stalls in High Street as normal.
