Two bastions of a beloved radio institution bring tales from behind the microphone to Banbury next month.
Henry Blofeld and Peter Baxter - known as Blowers and Backers - are familiar to millions through their work on Test Match Special.
The new show, Rogues On The Road, features tales from their travels around the world. Between them they’ve seen plenty of shenanigans across the years and across the globe, so the audience is advised to be prepared to be shocked and entertained by “good men behaving badly”.
Henry Blofeld is one of Britain’s most loved and recognisable broadcasters, while Test Match Special producer Peter Baxter has been corralling lost passports, misplaced visas, and errant broadcasters for more than 34 years.
The Telegraph described show as “not so much about cricket as about what happens in the commentary box and beyond”.
The Times said of it: “All that’s missing is the distant knock of leather on willow.”
The show comes to The Mill on Wednesday, November 9, at 7.30pm.
