Banbury-based band Folk the System are preparing for the release of a new album following their recent reunion.

The five piece folk-punk group reunited last year, nearly two decades after they went their separate ways in 1996.

Their 10 track album ‘Unrest in the Wolds’ contains newly recorded material and re-recordings of songs from the 1990s.

During this period, the band played gigs across the UK, touring venues from Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands.

They also supported popular music acts such as Liberty Cage, Rhythmites &Blyth Power and Citizen Fish.

In addition to the album release, Folk the System will play at a number of UK festivals over the summer.

They are scheduled to perform at Bloxfest in Banbury on May 9, as well as a slot at Something Else, Somewhere Else festival in Cheshire on the same weekend. The new album will be available to buy in May. For tour dates and more information about the band visit www.folkthesystem.wix.com/folkthesystem
