Banbury Cross Players have announced that open auditions will take place for their 2016 festival play: The Regina Monologues next week.
Written by Rebecca Russell and Jenny Wafer, the show focuses on six women who all have one thing in common.
Each tells their story and shares their experiences of miscarriage, love affairs and betrayal with humour, pathos and a great deal of wine, showing that the plight of their 16th century sisters – also married to a Henry – is still relevant 500 years on.
The roles up for grabs are Cathy of Aragon, Annie Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Katie Howard and Catherine Parr.
The play will be performed at this year’s Lighthorne Drama Festival on June 10.
Auditions are scheduled to be held on Thursday, February 25, at The Mill Arts Centre from 8pm. There will also be a read through of the play on Tuesday, February, 23, at The Mill, starting at 8pm.

You do not have to be a BCP member to audition but will need to join the group should you be cast.
