Farce aims to bring a slice of hilarity to hall

Chaos, laughter and a surprise twist will be served up in a farce about two of the most important things in life.

Bodicote Players is presenting a comedy entitled Love and Money written by Raymond Hopkins.

The group presents the farce at Bodicote Village Hall from Thursday, April 21, to Saturday, April 23.

Derek (Stephen Coles) and Pauline Felton (Louise Deakin) return home one evening to find their house has been burgled.

There’s even more mayhem when they discover their daughter Amy’s (Abby Woods) latest boyfriend (Joe Deakin) is the thief.

Joyce(Sonia Coles), their neighbour, keeps popping in with advice and unwelcome comments.

The Reverend Jones(Nigel Deakin) has called round to invite Derek to read a lesson at a televised service but he falls in love with the scenes of crime officer (Karen Booth) who is investigating the robbery.

An inexperienced policeman (Lewis Coles) adds to the confusion which follows and leads to a surprising twist at the end.

Bodicote Players are a small and friendly amateur dramatics group who perform a pantomime at Christmas and a play in the spring.

They have been performing for more than 30 years.

The group meet at 7.30pm most Thursdays at Bodicote Village Hall from September through to May.

Tickets for the play are £6 for the shows on Thursday and Friday and £9 for the Saturday night performance. There will be a cheese supper served on the Saturday night.
