Banbury venue to host weekend of fundraisers

A popular town centre pub will host two fundraising events this weekend both raising money for Banbury area causes.

Beginning tomorrow, Friday, November 29, The Banbury Cross in Butchers Row will present a night of Ibiza House, Hip Hop, RnB & Soul with some of the best local DJ's, including Simma B, Beano Brown and Random B.

All to raise funds raised will go towards Billy's Wish to Walk fundraiser, an Adderbury boy who is a personal friend to the Ironbelly Event Team organising the DJ set.

Billy,6, has limited use of his legs and gets around with the use sticks or a wheelchair.

The cause of Billy's condition is unknown so parents Karen and Peter Humphreys are trying to raise £85,000 for extensive physiotherapy and corrective surgery later down the line.

Doors Open at 7pm with DJ's starting at 8pm, tickets from Skiddle.

On Saturday, November 30 from 8pm, the pub will host its usual monthly Soul and Motown Night, this month in memory of Sue Gardner and raising funds for the Katharine House Hospice.

Sue's family wanted to do something special to mark the 10th anniversary of Sue's passing.

Entry is free but any donations will be very welcome.
