To kick off their autumn season, Preston Capes based music ensemble, Fiori Musicali, will be joined by star soprano Grace Davidson to perform an evening of music by Handel.

The concert will take place on Sunday, October 4 at 7pm at the Georgian church in Aynho.

The music and the venue are well paired as both originate in the 18th century and the acoustics provided by the church will make the perfect setting for the evening’s entertainment.

Fiori have become well established in Oxfordshire and beyond and are known for their exciting concerts, which are conducted in some of the most picturesque locations in the country. For their next concert, they will be joined by Grace Davidson.

Grace is well known in classical music circles, performing with musicians such as Christian Forshaw as well as the London Symphony Orchestra Chamber Ensemble. Grace has also made a number of television appearances with choral group The Sixteen and once featured on Simon Russell Beale’s BBC Four series, Sacred Music.

The concert, as is usual for one of Fiori’s performances, will feature familiar as well as lesser-known work. On this occasion the programme will be comprised of a selection of pieces by the German-born, British composer Handel.

Among other pieces, the Fiori chamber orchestra and choir will be performing one of Handel’s famous Coronation Anthems. Also in the programme is Handel’s recently rediscovered Gloria, a piece which has not been played for over 250 years.

The combination of Handel’s arrangements and Grace’s voice is certainly worth hearing and the group are thrilled to be working alongside such an accomplished singer.

Artistic director of Fiori Musicali, Penelope Rapson, said: “We are fortunate today to have brilliantly agile singers like Grace Davidson who are able to perform this kind of thing and bring this music to life again.”

Tickets cost £20 (concessions available). Go to: or call the Box Office on 0333 666 33660. More information about Grace Davidson can be found at:
