Veterans go up after they maintain 100 per cent run

Banbury Veterans ended their Banbury Indoor Cricket League campaign with a 100 per cent record on Tuesday.

They amassed 126 points out of a possible 130 to gain promotion from division three following a 40 run victory over Hinton-in-the-Hedges in their final fixture.

Veterans posted 108-3 in ten overs with James Mitchelmore 27no and Steve Beck 20 top scoring while Will Peel-Yates took 1-3.

Beck took 2-9 and Michael Thomas picked up 4-34 as Hinton dismissed for 68 runs in 7.1 overs with Ollie Lynham 29 and Peel-Yates 21 top scoring.

Sandford St Martin A went up as runners-up after they beat Azad by three wickets.

Azad made 64-6 in 9.2 overs with Talib Hussain 24 top scoring while Ian Reynolds took 2-11 and John Stirrup picked up 1-22.

In reply, Talib Ali took 2-25 but Sandford passed the target in seven overs with Scott Reynolds 27no leading the way.

Charlbury A beat Bodicote by 60 runs.

Tom Nash 36no and Paul Adams 22 helped Charlbury to 129-5 in ten overs. In reply, Nick Merry took 1-16 and Barry Nutt claimed 1-17 as Bodicote were shot out in the ninth over.
