The division one new boys returned from Reading with a five wicket victory to move up one place in the table.

Captain Andy Harris won the toss and the visitors made an excellent start in the field, reducing Reading to 52-5 before Philip Brennan 48 and Pavendeep Chima steadied the ship and took the hosts on to 104-6.

But Reading were kept pinned down and were finally dismissed for 149 runs, with Pavendeep Chima 19 and Amardeep Dosanjh 19 the only batsmen to make decent contributions, as the in-form Joe Thomas took 3-39 and Liam Manley picked up 2-11.

In reply, the visitors lost Harry Smith early on but Jordan Garrett 42 and Dain Moreton 47 took Tew on to 87-2. Joe White was unable to make an impression but Curtly Slatter and Garrett took Tew on to 115-5 before they departed.

That left Harris 20 and Ashley Hubbert 10 to see Tew home in the 46th over.
