It was held at Norwich Show Ground over a fast, flat course with 344 runners in the junior girls 9/8 years category.

With a good start but into a strong headwind, Scrivener tucked in with the leading pack holding a solid position throughout the race before making her break in the last 200 metres.

She clinched a bronze medal and secured her place in the England team for the Schools International Athletics Board (SIAB) at Port Talbot this weekend.

Scrivener’s target all season has been the English Schools race in the hope of securing a place in the top eight. So she was delighted to find that she had not only achieved her goal but had bettered that with an individual medal.
