Scrivener misses out by one second in her best run so far

Alex Scrivener produced the best run of the day in the third round of the Chiltern Cross Country League meeting at Luton.

It came in the under-15 girls’ race in which she tracked the leader all the way.

In a sprint finish, Scrivener came second by just one second, a great result in such high quality competition.

Harriers put out a strong team in the senior ladies’ race with Ros Kelling coming sixth and second F45. Michelle Bartlett was ninth and third F45.

In the senior men’s race Tim Wright was fourth out of 369 finishers.

On Sunday, Harriers hosted the Oxford Mail Cross Country League meeting at Adderbury.

In the under-9 race, Edgar Dumbreck was third and Richie Mack fourth.

The under-11 girls had 51 runners with Tilly Lainchbury producing her best result in fourth place.

In the under-11 boys race, Charlie Tuthill was tenth, Ruben Snelson 11th and Archie Street 12th.

Jenny Hannah came fifth in the under-15/17 girls’ race, with Naomi Dibb 21st, Franzisker Bucher 25th and Lizzie Eskender 33rd.

Tim Wright came fourth in the senior men’s race of 257 runners despite racing the day before.

In the senior ladies race Ros Kelling was 18th and first V45, and Michelle Bartlett was 22nd and third V45.
